I Spied Ezra’s Molars

Monday, September 1st, 2008

As the weather here starts feeling more like fall and the days are getting noticably shorter, tooth #9 is finally emerging like a butterfly from a cocoon. It’s on the lower  left side. It also looks like we may shortly be seeing tooth #10 and it seems possible that maybe #11 and #12 will show up well before winter even begins.

When you get a chance to check out the inside of Ezra’s mouth - which isn’t often because he gets all fidgety - his poor little gums are so swollen, and his temperament, like his sleeping habits, is a little uneven lately. I’m hopeful that we can get through these 4 teeth quickly and then get another bit of a respite from teething. These molars seem like they must be much more painful than the little flat front teeth that he’s already dealt with. It kind of makes my own gums hurt just to think about how his mouth must feel.
