YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No!

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

I asked Ezra today if he wanted to go upstairs so we could change his diaper, and he looked at me with a blank stare. Then he shook his head back and forth. And then…..he said no! And then no no no!After the shock of hearing Ezra say “no”, we went upstairs and changed his diaper anyway. I mean, come on, it was totally a rhetorical question!

Tub Omen

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Tonight we tried giving Ezra a bath in the tub and not just his mini-tub. If -v- and I were believers in omens, we would have read the fact Ezra had a poop in his diaper before the bath that then smeared on -v-’s pants as an omen of the fussiness to come.

Pretty much immediately he was adverse to the idea of getting into the tub even though the water wasn’t that deep. After a few minutes of him refusing to get in we pulled out his mini-tube and began to fill it with water. He was more than happy to stand in his mini-tub and play with the water as it came out of the spout. During the water filling stage Ezra lifted up the knob on the tub spout thereby making the shower head spray water on -v- and Ezra. This freaked Ezra out, and by this time all hope was lost for a full bath, so we hurried and cleaned him as best we could and got him dry and in is pajamas. Maybe next bath time we will be more successful with bathing Ezra in the big tub, or maybe his is not ready.

Ezra’s Girlfriend

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Ezra has a girlfriend at playcare. She is the only person at playcare that he mentions, which is done by him saying her name a lot everyday. He says her name in the morning after waking up. He says her name during morning snack. He says her name on the ride to playcare. He says her name on the way from playcare, during dinner, during play time and before bed. During the weekend he mentions her name for what seems like every hour. Sometimes he will repeat it over and over and over.

And though I have never seen his girlfriend nor him interact with his girlfriend, -v- says she is cute, and that it is cute when they both see each other at playcare. From what -v- says, they both scream with excitement and smile and Ezra then becomes shy and hides against -v-’s legs.

New Stunt

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

In addition to Ezra’s new desire to stand on structurally insecure boxes and try to stand on his toys with wheels without falling, and his joy at running the length of the couch despite our repeated attempts to stop and tell him to not perform these acts, he has a new stunt that he thought of yesterday and performed again today. This stunt involves him pulling all the pillows from the couch and the sofa chair of the main living area then piling the pillows below the sofa chair. Then he gets on top of the sofa chair and jumps into the pillows.

Of all the stunts he likes the perform, the falling from sofa chair to pillows is the one we are less worried about than the others because the fall isn’t that far and the pillow pile is high, and he is a kid, and he will do this anyway. What we are concerned about his lack of aim even with a big pile of pillows, so we are only hoping to control his fall and be sure we are around anytime he performs this stunt. Fortunately like any performer Ezra wants a crowd, so we are there to help guide and catch him and then tell him that he need not be a stuntman until he grows up.
