Five Days Of No Diapers OR Peeing/Pooping In Pants

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

There has been no fuss to change diapers for there have been no diapers. All poops and pees have been on the potty. The only time we needed diapers was when we were stuck in traffic, and Ezra needed to pee. All we had was the portable toilet seat that is Ezra’s size to fit over adult toilets and diapers, so -v- pulled off to the side of the road; made a toilet with the portable seat and diapers, and Ezra peed on the improvised toilet.

Best Week Ever!

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Since the last weekend from hell, we’ve made such great potty training progress that I feel like everything’s been better! Less stress over cleaning up pee = more fun for everyone. SO I think that this may in fact have been the best week ever…after we got past the incident on Monday where he peed on the floor at the kid gym and we didn’t have any extra pants so we had to carry him crying out to the car to go home. But since that day Ezra has done such a good job with using the potty. After Ezra’s first couple of poops as a baby, I never thought I could be as excited about a bowel movement as I was about the big one he put in his little potty today. It was like the most awesome thing ever. There were other things about this weekend that were fun (the camp-out in the living room, waffles, the park, the tadpole pond) but that poop made this the best weekend EVER!

EZRA HAS POOPED IN THE POTTY AT HOME!!!

THREE PEES IN POTTY! …And one poop in pants.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

He peed in the potty this morning, at pre-school and at his gym. I feel we are making progress with the peeing in potty. The poop in potty may take some time for he cares having poop in pants less than he cares stopping playing to poop in the potty.

EZRA PEED IN THE POTTY AT HOME!

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

All I needed to do was to ask about peeing every five minutes and talk to him about his potty and what kind of potty he would like every few minutes and rush him to the bath room twice when he said he needed to pee. I think the first attempt I made him too nervous as we rushed to the bathroom. The second time I convinced him to sit a few seconds longer on his potty and relax. Then I heard the sound of pee, and Ezra smiled. And I felt a great relief.

I Fucking Hate Potty Training Ezra

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I feel I am the one being trained. I feel (as does -v-) that we are doing everything wrong. I feel that he will forever be pooping in his underwear and not caring. Because he doesn’t seem to care about pooping and peeing in his underwear, and he feels to care only that we change his pants and underwear and clean his bum after he poops, which he hates more often than not.

We don’t feel it is an accident when he has pooped or peed in his underwear, but rather his preferred way of pooping and peeing. Not that I blame him, and I can understand because that’s how he has always done it. I only wish he’d understand that he would need to change his underwear and pants and wipe is bum much less if he pooped and/or peed in the toilet. But he is only two and a half, so I realize my wishes can wait.

We have two potties. We have two to go near the two adult toilets. We even have a seat Ezra’s size that would fit around the adult toilet seats. One of the toilets he has decorated with stickers, but for some reason he hates it and the other potty and the potty seat. Or he hates something about the toilets like the bathrooms, the placement, the type. Well, the type of toilet could be an issue because he will pee and poop in the toilets that are at preschool school partly we suspect because the preschool toilets flush. And it could be likely that watching other kids at preschool help him feel more comfortable.

I don’t know. We don’t know. We are confused. I just hope Ezra doesn’t enjoy to poop or pee in pants more than sitting on the potty for the rest of his life because of some psychological manifest we create.

Good Day

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

It was. We made and ate waffles. We played with LEGOs. Ezra ate more waffles. We trade names. For a few minutes, I was Ezra, and Ezra was Kalab. We played hide and go seek in the house. We played more LEGOs. He went brushed his teeth with little fuss.

Will he or won’t he?

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Ezra went to preschool today wearing underpants. He had one accident at school. When I went to pick him up he was wearing new pants and new underpants. I tried to get him to go to the potty before we left preschool but he wouldn’t. We got home and went to the basement to get popsicles, and when I turned around he said he needed new underpants. So, we changed the pants and got new underpants. When we were getting ready for bed, Ezra sat on the toilet for about 10 minutes, but no pee. So now that he’s in bed wearing only his underpants, I am wondering, will he or won’t he pee?

Ezra Pooped In A Toilet

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

While I felt Ezra’s joy when Ezra told me of his first experience of him actually pooping in a toilet during pre-school and not needing to change his diaper, I felt sorrow after the story was done for it is another first I didn’t get to experience with Ezra.

Loud

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Ezra doesn’t like other people’s loud noises. He has a friend who likes to shriek and scream and squeal, and I think Ezra would like her better if she didn’t have such  loud shrieking capabilities. I think I would also like her better if that were the case.

,,I love your nose.”

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

As he was walking down the stairs after waking from sleep, Ezra paused to meet me and see me face to face as I stood on the floor. We stood there in the morning sunshine and stared at each other with smiles. Then ezra said. ,,I love your nose.” And it has been a great morning since.

Where the fuck are Ezra’s Monster Truck Shoes?

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I am convinced Ezra’s Monster Truck Shoes are not lost. I believe they are gone. Like -v- said this morning, ,,They have walked away.” I didn’t believe, but now that I have looked for Ezra’s Monster Truck Shoes I believe they have walked away.

Tantrums and Hugs

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Sometimes it’s hard to give a hug to a snotty kid who was just screaming and crying and telling you to go away, but sometimes that hug is the best hug of the night.

I want candy…or blueberries

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

We had easter part 2 today - and for Ezra I think it was filled with more blueberries than candy. Part 1 was on Friday while Ezra stayed home with Grandpa and Grandma T because preschool was closed for good Friday. Instead of candy Ezra got lots of blueberries, strawberries and bubbles in his easter basket. He got his first chocolate bunny, and we convinced him that he could only eat about 1/4 of the ears. Between Friday and today I think Ezra had maybe 6 pieces of candy, but Kalab and I have eaten about 10 times that amount just today. Ugh. We kept thinking that Ezra was cranky due to sugar crashing, but I think it’s just because he’s been cooped up inside all weekend due to the crappy weather, and Kalab and I were the ones who were getting cranky for the sugar. Maybe tomorrow I will just eat blueberries like Ezra.

WHY!!!

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

My mind hurts from answering so many why questions today. -v- has a bit of a brain wear, too. I reason I need to learn more about physics  because Ezra’s why questions can come down to the molecular level. I have also realized why my dad would some times just say, ,,Because I said so.” I have said that more than once this evening. I am all out of why.
