Back to school, again

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Oh, we had a fun time in Utah! There were snow, toys, and grand parents. And snow. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if we could have made a snowman with that snow. Ezra is a great traveler, and it was so easy to fly with him. It was also really great to have almost a week with family and no work. Today though was a rough transition back to school, tougher maybe for me than Ezra.

Ezra Likes The Powder

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

Ezra likes eating the powder snow. He ate some every jump on the snowpile with a fresh scoop of snow. He even helped get the last few scoops of snow like a bulldozer, and didn’t eat it all, so I could jump on the snowpile.

Snowpile

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

I built Ezra a snowpile becase the snow is too dry for us to build a snowman.

Sharing Covers.

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

Even after getting getting hit and kicked by Ezra during sleep, I feel a bit guilty for taking all the covers.

Bath Time?

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

Bath time is always an odd time with Ezra because it begins with him fussing that he doesn’t want to have a bath and ends with him fussing that he doesn’t want to get out of the bath.

Are You Ready For Some Football?

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

Ezra is.

Though neither of his favorite teams are playing (Oregon State University Beavers, Green Bay Packers and the Red team (which is any team that has red Jerseys)), Ezra is still finding joy watching this game. He has stated that he likes both the teams on the field. Seeing how the teams on the field have been fighting each other after plays, I don’t thing the teams playing like each other.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

We had our first parent teacher conference with Ezra’s teacher on Thursday. Ezra apparently is smart, but I already knew that.

Sleeping In Box

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Ezra found the box that arrived with his new car seat to be a good place to eat, play and sleep. It’s a big box, so there was no way of explaining why he couldn’t sleep in the box. -v- did have the talk about the fact the box will be gone after a few days, and while he didn’t seem to care to only have the box for a few days only time will tell if his cares will change.

,,Daddy, can you help me?”

Saturday, November 13th, 2010

Then moments pass and Mr. Crankypants becomes Ezra. And Ezra helps me unload the dishwasher after I help him load a bunch of cars into the cab and bucket of a front loader. I didn’t even ask for him to help unload the dishwasher :)

,,I don’t like you.”

Saturday, November 13th, 2010

Many things if not everything are better than having a loving child wakeup and become Mr. Crankypants.

,,I love you, daddy!”

Saturday, November 13th, 2010

Few things if anything are better than waking to have kid waking, hugging you and saying, ,,I love you, daddy.”

Crankypants

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Ezra’s been waking up early, and going to be a little earlier. He has been crankier than usual. Maybe it’s because of daylight savings time. Maybe its because he’s 3.

Cars and Trucks and Things That Go (and go and go and go and go and go…)

Friday, November 12th, 2010

While I find Richard Scarry’s books to be fascinating, I am hoping tomorrow’s book will be a different book for bed time for I have been reading the same one for four nights.

Will He Still Like Me?

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

He watches an episode of Bob The Builder, which will be his last of the shows he may watch today.

So far, the time with Ezra has been good. He even said he wasn’t going to be rude to me today, and that it wasn’t nice of him to be mean to me yesterday (which is probably something he reasoned after talking with -v-). And he said he liked me. We talked during the drive home. He has ate the waffels I made him from dinner, but the true test his mood and his like of me is when he is no longer entertained by the shows and wants more.

I’m Not Ezra’s Friend

Monday, November 8th, 2010

Ezra let me know he is not my friend. There was no cause or reason or act on my part that I am aware of. It was just a fact that Ezra announced to me as fact. This is nothing new because to Ezra I am either not his friend or a bad guy or some one others shouldn’t like periodically throughout the day. It happens. It is a bit frustrating that I am the chosen object of his anger, but…Well, what am I going to do? I do want to know where he is getting this attitude from. Is it us? Is it some kid at preschool? Or is it from Thomas The Train and other cartoon shows we show him? Through my analytic analysis of life, I can’t reason why I am the bad guy.

Back to school

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

Ezra goes back to school tomorrow after a week of fun times with grandma o. I am going that he will not bring the fists of fury that he’s been playing with at home this last couple of days. Let’s hope for happy, fun and safe day tomorrow.
