Ezra’s Politically Cute

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Grandma O has been visiting with us for the last week. We had such good times with her. Grandma O, like many grandmas, likes to take photos. I just downloaded a shizzle of images off her memory card, and I had such a problem trying to pick which one was cutest. I think this one might be in my top 3 pics of Ezra so far, mostly because of the face (he’s got some like, Blue Steel face going on) but also, the onesie Grandma O found to put him in:
Spit up
Ha Ha! It will be funny to show him this picture in the future, should he somehow grow up to be a raging neo-Con republican.

Ezra Is Almost 1!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

It was about this time a year ago that I first felt the contractions that brought us Ezra…72 hours later. I can’t believe Ezra is almost 1! It doesn’t feel like a whole year has passed, but then again, when I look at Ezra and see how he’s grown and changed I can’t believe all this has happened in just a year.

Today Ezra tried on a pair of Nikes that Uncle C bought for him before he was even born. They are still a little too big. Ezra is used to being barefoot or wearing Robeez, so these Nikes seemed like they must have felt like bricks strapped to Ezra’s feet. He finally managed to stand up, but once he got up all he did was look at the shoes on his feet, picking up one foot and then the other, then looking at me with this very serious expression, looking back at the shoes, and looking at me again.

Finally he just sat back down and reached for a foot in the Nike, and brought it up to his mouth for a taste : )

Ezra is Super Cute

Is Ezra Scary?

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Ezra was sitting by Baby J today while I was getting all his stuff put away. Ezra started screeching and making his Orca sounds, while reaching out towards Baby J and trying to grab him. J started crying! His mom was there, and said that usually he’s the loud one. But once she left, Miss M told me that Ezra did that to J last week too! And J is just really sensitive, she said.

I hope Ezra’s not turning into a bully!

Kalab reminded me that today is St. Patrick’s Day, and maybe Ezra was trying to pinch J because he wasn’t wearing green! In honor of the day, Ezra wore his Packers outfit. “Or maybe Ezra put the Pack Attack on him,” Kalab said.Pack Attack!

Ezra McQuackers

Friday, December 14th, 2007

I was going through some of Ezra’s clothes and found this outfit:

Ezra McQuackers
Woah! He looks like some little elfin lord of baby duckies - little Ezra McQuackers. Also, you can’t quite see it, but he’s wearing socks that have little duck faces on them. I got those for him when I was out shopping with Auntie M last weekend. I hope Ezra doesn’t grow up with a fear of ducks because of this…

P S - Still no signs of viral meningitis!

Bath Time is Fun

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

The first couple of times we put Ezra in his baby bath, he didn’t seem to like it much. There were tears and the pouty lip and sometimes screams of sheer agony. The boy did not like to be naked and wet. But now, Ezra seems to like his baths a little more. He kind of splashes around with his legs, and sometimes dips his arms into the water. This is good, because we decided that Ezra is going to get a bath when he comes home from daycare. Germs be gone!

Here’s his cuteness getting ready for his bath on Monday:

Working from Home

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

I got some work done yesterday at home with Ezra. He was really well-behaved and agreed to sit and watch me work for brief periods. Otherwise, I mostly worked while he slept. Hopefully I can make this working from home work for me and Ezra, because it’s much nicer to be home with him a couple days during the week : )

We had to get dressed for the office so that we could be better workers, which meant he couldn’t just hang out in his pajamas all day. Unlike most office workers, Ezra demands a costume change half-way through the day.

H. Crap!

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

First of all, I can’t even begin to write about how much it has sucked to go back to work this week. I think about it right now, and it makes me cry because I know I have to get up in the morning and do it again.

So instead, I will skip that for now and also write about the holy-crap-that’s-ginormous box of clothes we got from T&K today. I do not have a picture of the clothes while they were in the box, nor do I have one of the box, but I do have this one of the clothes sorted into piles on the floor (the pretty kitty hiding in the midst of the clothing towers is sassy van katten, and she did not come with the box of clothes). Woah!03.jpg

We will have to come up with a good and appropriate way to thank them for this great big surprise clothing surplus. We will be able to change Ezra 4 times a day and still probably not have gone through everything. But yet, we will still also get to do laundry less frequently!

Monday, funny Monday

Friday, September 28th, 2007

On Monday this week, I took Ezra to my office out in Tigrrrd and three funny things happened:

1. All my co-workers who were in the office got to hear the story about how Ezra was crying and spitting up all the time, and how I finally realized that it wasn’t normal baby behaviour and took him to the pediatrician. I told them all how much better Ezra is doing after a week on his baby Zanex prescription we got from the pediatrician. Everyone looked sort of surprised, but no one said anything. Only after I got home later that night and was talking about this with Kalab did I realize my mistake - Ezra is on Zantec, not the anti-depressant Zanex. So now everyone in my office possibly thinks my baby is depressed, or that he’s just a wee bit too young to be on an anti-depressant and that I’m a horrible parent. Ooops.

2. We went to Babies R Hell to look for Born Free bottles (one of the only baby bottles that is free of bisphenol-A, which is a bad news chemical!) for feeding Ezra the milk I’m starting to express from my milking machine. Only to learn that they only sell those bottles online, and do not carry the bottles in stores. Buh! So I went to the clothing section to see if I could find some long-sleeve creepers, maybe a sweater, maybe a pair of pants for Ezra, since it’s getting cold here and he’s already too big for a lot of his 0-3 month sized clothes. Big mistake! I was overwhelmed by baby outfits! Each one was cuter than the last! I felt a little dizzy and light-headed from the cuteness. I believe I went momentarily baby-crazy. I have never ever felt this way before. Ever! Long story short, I walked out of there with more than $60 in baby outfits, the craziest of which is this little leather “Top Gun”-ish jacket and jeans outfit. As any of my Wisconsin relatives would say: Uf da!

Top Gunnin’3. Going out to Tigrrrd made me realize that I do not want to go back to work. This is maybe not so funny : (

He’s a maniac!!

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Maniac On The CouchThis wasn’t taken during today’s sleepy quiet happy day, but on Ezra’s 1-month birthday. This is my little maniac, dancing like he’s never danced before…check out his little baby legwarmers! And his off-the-shoulder onesie! He’s totally channeling what’s-her-name from Flashdance!
