Possession

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

If I were a religious person, I would have believed tonight Ezra had a daemon inside. It wasn’t the uncontrollable crying. It wasn’t the snot covering his face and the tears streaming down his cheeks and dripping from chin. It wasn’t the crying and speaking that made him sound like he was speaking tongues. It wasn’t his flopping on the ground to prevent either -v- or me from picking him up to change his diaper before sleep. It was all of this during on instant of him in the corner of his room with the lamp light hitting him just right and him screaming, ,,NO, NO, NO, NO!!!” with his head twisting madly side to side to side.

Uh oh!

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

I guess that when I am with Ezra, and he drops his pacifier, my response is “uh oh!” and when he falls down, I say “uh oh!” and when he drops his crackers, I say “uh oh!”…and maybe I say it for other things too, but I just don’t realize it. But a little guy named Ezra sure does! The last couple of days, whenever Ezra drops his pacifier, he says “uh oh” and when he drops his sippy cup off the side of his high chair tray, he says “uh oh” and when he pulls a bunch of bags out of a drawer and leaves them scattered all over the kitchen, he says “uh oh uh uh oh uh oh” : )

Ezra is just about to wrap up his regiment of amoxicillin, and this ER doc only wrote the prescription for the EXACT amount Ezra should take for 10 days. Does he not know children are prone to at least once spitting out the medicine, prompting you to re-administer a half if not a full dose? Uh oh. I am picking up a whole new prescription for him tomorrow, just so he can take a day’s worth of the stuff. Some things are so unneccesarily complicated. I am going to try to take Ezra to the Dr. this week to just check and make sure that the ear infection has responded to the meds. Hopefully the Dr. response when she looks in Ezra’s ears will not be “Uh oh!”

Is Ezra Scary?

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Ezra was sitting by Baby J today while I was getting all his stuff put away. Ezra started screeching and making his Orca sounds, while reaching out towards Baby J and trying to grab him. J started crying! His mom was there, and said that usually he’s the loud one. But once she left, Miss M told me that Ezra did that to J last week too! And J is just really sensitive, she said.

I hope Ezra’s not turning into a bully!

Kalab reminded me that today is St. Patrick’s Day, and maybe Ezra was trying to pinch J because he wasn’t wearing green! In honor of the day, Ezra wore his Packers outfit. “Or maybe Ezra put the Pack Attack on him,” Kalab said.Pack Attack!

EZ-O Does It With Tongue

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

An amazing event occurred yesterday. I was making a video of EZ-O’s crazy tongue action and trying to get the state of his growing teeth on full motion video. Without expecting it, EZ-O, a blossoming beatbox artist,
used two of his natural tools to create a new sound. A sound that was a progression of skillz that came together to create a new skillz.

First there was the skill of a new beatbox sound created with lips.

Second there was the skill of moving the tongue all crazy after the discovery of the tongue.

NOW, he has created and preformed an new skill and sound with these skillz:

This sound was a sound that was long in coming. It has been a sound that both -v- and I have helped him train by example to expand his beatbox performance. Now I can write and say to the world that a beatbox master he is becoming.

Ezra’s Getting High

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Ezra has a high chair now. It’s a loaner, but Ezra doesn’t plan on using it for very long, so he is willing to give it back. However, the excitement sounds and happy talk expressed while he first sat in the high chair may mean he may want it forever.

Now he is as high as us when we sit to eat at the table, which is much better for -v- and I don’t need to look down to look and talk with Ezra, and Ezra doesn’t need to look up to look and talk with -v- and I. We only need stare across the table to have a conversation with Ezra or to find out who can smile the longest.

I only hope his enthusiasm and obvious joy at being high up in the high chair remains. He was never this happy while in any of his other chairs unless -v- and I were some how amusing him like in the video of this post: I Made Ezra Laugh.

EZ-O’s New Beatbox Sound

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

EZ-O has been learning new beatbox skillz from his mentor -v-. (Yes, that’s skills with z.) His latest technique is improvement upon a fundamental skill of beatboxing that has been around since the early days of beatboxing.

EZ-O is so dedicated to perfection of his art that he is willing to practice this new sound morning, noon and night. There is nothing like waking up to this sound when it’s four in the morning knowing my son is giving it his all to become a beatbox master.

I Made Ezra Laugh

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Yesterday I was playing with Ezra while he sat in his chair. I would stand up and wave at him and say hello, then crouch down about mid-way to his eye level and say hello and wave, and then finally end up right down at his eye level. This was apparently very funny, because Ezra was laughing! His first real laugh! So I continued to do this for a solid 15 minutes, and he kept laughing. It was such a great sound! Of course, I tried it again today, and he looked at me like I was soooo out of it. Like he totally could not believe that I thought what made him laugh yesterday would work today.
