Excavating and Hauling Dirt

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Day was bright and warm enough to go out and excavate and haul dirt with the Tonka Metal Dump Truck and CAT Plastic Excavator.

Ezra found a road to haul the dirt. The road was a long drive for the dump truck from the dirt pit where the excavator dug up the dirt to a path near the porch, along the side of the house, between more plants only to end near the excavator.

For near an hour he dug and hauled dirt. Then we went inside once he was done hauling all the dirt then began to want take all of his toys outside and throw a fuss because he couldn’t take all his toy to his dirt pile.

da Vinci daze

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Ezra attended his first ever da vinci days gathering this weekend. As Kalab said, this experience included the Daddies show on Friday night. It also included more music, ice cream, french fries, bouncy walks, mazes, balloons, walking, carrying, running, crying, almost losing a binky, an aborted trip to the wave science research center, bike-sculptures shaped like cats, slugs, tiki bars, and other weird things, a lot of fish art, and several trips to the new Corvallis transit bus that was on display at the entrance to da Vinci days. All this in just 2 days!

I think Ezra’s favorite part was where we sat on this new bus, and I sang many many different verses of “wheels on the bus”

shoes on the bus go on and off

Ezra Plays With Self

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Ezra’s playing with self right now. He’s playing with blocks on the steps. He is making his tow trucks and towers. He was playing with cars, trucks and tractors by making them a train.

I was playing with him for about a minutes, but he didn’t like the way I was driving the blue 2008 Mustang Hot Wheels car. He wanted to crash into the car with a HUGE Little Tikes safari truck. I drove around the safari truck avoiding the crash because my car became a plane and flew around. He fussed for a bit because  he wanted a crash, so we crashed cars, and then as quick as an accident happens my play time with Ezra was over as he drove his car away.

Buised But Not Beaten

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

There are bruises and scrapes from Ezra chaotic play of the day. If child services came to the house it may seem like we are violent parents, and not the truth which is that Ezra plays hard and sometimes doesn’t see that tree while running crazy at playcare, which was the cause of the first bump on head. The second bump on head happened when Ezra started a game of run-around. Ezra was running around with -v- and me,  and he fell. While Ezra usually falls with no pain for he has had enough practice, this fall was fast and flat and lead with head. Plop and bang he went. The sound against the floor was a thud. I felt the pain. And though understandably he shed some tears and had a cry for a bump did form, he did start playing run around again soon after the bump formed on forehead.

Joygasm

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Ezra, at times, appeared to be near exploding with joy seeing the tens of buses and many trains and taxis that he shouted bye and hi loud enough to be louder than honking horns, corner musicians, echoing bus motors, chatting people all enjoying the bright day downtown.

While we ate on a park bench, Ezra almost got whiplash trying to say hi and bye to every buss and taxi driving past. ,,Bye, bye. Hi. Bye, bye. Hi…”

Then there was the park. He acted like he was on skateboard when two skateboard kids rolled past. He ran through the park and slid on slides. He tried to play baseball. He smiled and laughed. Then we were home. He said, ”Outside, outside…” only a few times before he was realizing he was inside and Night Night was soon.
