I believe Ezra, like many children, is a great actor. Yesterday, he was red faced, tense and near tears because he had to eat another piece of lettuce from his plate. As soon -v- said, ,,You don’t have to eat the last piece of lettuce,” Ezra’s face and body sprang free to life with a grin. The red spread over face faded and joy spoke forth, ,,Can I have my treat?” After -v- said, ,,After you eat the last piece of lettuce,” his face flushed red; his body tensed and face squinted the whinny wail like some one just told him all his toys had been taken forever. As I sat there and watched him whine and fuss and throw a tantrum over one piece of lettuce, I decided to copy Ezra’s tantrum. It only took about fifteen seconds of my acting like Ezra for Ezra to laugh and smile at me for acting like him.

We slept in a tent out back last night as something fun and exciting to do as a family. The idea excited Ezra, and he was probably the only one to get good sleep for his body is young and nimble and able to flop around on uneven hard ground and not wake-up the next day feeling like like every muscle in his body was twisted around bone. I am only hoping he didn’t like camping out back too much and want to do it again soon for it will take a while for my body to recover. But what ever pain has was worth it for some family fun.

But now, I must teach him about the responsibility of not using an entire roll of toilet paper to wipe his butt. It is like he feels he needs to make toilet paper boxing gloves for one wipe. I have been telling him he needs and can use much less toilet paper. And he is getting better at using less toilet paper per cleaning, but still uses enough toilet paper to clog a toilet.

Today when I got Ezra from preschool his friend C tried to get Ezra to throw a rag at me, but Ezra looked at his friends said, ,,No.” His friend tried to get Ezra to throw bark-chips at me. Ezra said, ”No.” And on the way home I told him how proud I was of him not doing what his friend asked him to do because he knew that I didn’t like him doing it.

He whined about needing to leave preschool with me and not -v-. He complained about eating his corn. He even bitched about getting pudding for his treat before he ate it. He fussed about changing his cloths. He went from hating me to liking me more times that I could count. I can’t think of the many time he said, ,,I don’t like you, daddy,” for no other reason than me sitting or asking him to eat his vegetables, please. I even read him three big books for bed, and he still wouldn’t open his mouth and hold still, so I could brush his teeth. I did tell him how rude I though he was and hurt by his words and actions. We had an emotional moment then hugged and he kissed me on the cheek then we called it a night.

While playing, he got big sliver in hand. He didn’t fuss or cry much about it. The big sliver came out, and the sliver stab wound doesn’t seem to hurt him, but the redness and one instance of him feeling something like burning in his hand, which had us worried and -v- taking him to see a doctor.

Doctor said everything appears normal, but we need to watch the red mark to make sure it doesn’t grow; watch his temperature and give him some antibiotics.

It seems like only yesterday when it was about every four months we had to give Ezra antibiotics for ear infections or had to worry about some sickness. While I am not as freaked out about Ezra’s wound as I was while he was younger, I still worry and that will never change.

The bike began to roll [...]

He took the Skuut bike to the park. He pushed the Skuut bike up the grassy hill to the slides and swings. He slide and swung then we left.

During the departure, he wanted to Skuut down the very steep part of the grassy hill on his Skuut bike. I shrugged. ,,OKay.”

The bike began to roll down the steep hill, and he fell off the bike on butt and back. The bike rolled down the hill.

He stood and said he wanted to go down the hill.

I smiled, got the bike and walked the steep grassy hill next to Ezra, put the bike on the hill. I held the bike until he gripped the handle bars and said he was ready. Then I let go.

And Ezra rolled down the steep hell coasting far from the steep hill.
